FRC appoints new council members

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) announces new appointments to the Actuarial and Audit & Assurance Councils.

The new members of the Actuarial Council are:
  • Dominic Lindley, an independent consultant specialising in financial services, consumer protection and conduct risk issues. He is a Member of the Financial Services Consumer Panel and Director of policy for New City Agenda, a financial services thinktank founded by David Davis MP, Lord McFall and Lord Sharkey. 

  • Naomi L'Estrange, is a Trustee Director and sits on boards for a wide variety of DB, DC and hybrid pension schemes.  She was previously Director of Legal and of Strategy and Policy at the Pension Protection Fund. 

  • Bob Scott, Senior Partner of the actuarial firm Lane Clark & Peacock LLP , a position he has held since 2011. From 1 June 2016 to 31 May 2018 Bob was the Chair of the Association of Consulting Actuaries  which is the representative body for some 1800 UK consulting actuaries working in over 60 firms. 

The new member of the Audit and Assurance Council is:
  • Fiona Kordiak, Director of Audit Services in Audit Scotland and a member of its Management Team. Audit Scotland is responsible for the audit of devolved central government, local government and health bodies in Scotland.

The FRC’s mission is to promote transparency and integrity in business.  The FRC sets the UK Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes and UK standards for accounting and actuarial work; monitors and takes action to promote the quality of corporate reporting; and operates independent enforcement arrangements for accountants and actuaries. As the competent authority for audit in the UK the FRC sets auditing and ethical standards and monitors and enforces audit quality.
