FRC appoints Andrew Vials as Deputy Chair of the FRRP

PN 31/17 The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) announces the appointment of Andrew Vials as Deputy Chair of the Financial Reporting Review Panel (FRRP).

Andrew Vials was a partner at KPMG for 28 years. He was lead audit partner for clients in both the financial services and other commercial sectors. From 2004, he headed the firm's Department of Professional Practice providing advice on a wide range of financial and corporate reporting issues. During that time, he was a member of the International Accounting Standards Board's (IASB) International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Interpretations Committee.

Andrew subsequently joined Grant Thornton in 2014 as Head of National Assurance Services, the firm's centre of excellence for corporate reporting and audit matters which he led until 2016.

The FRRP comprises of individuals drawn from commerce and the professions to consider issues raised in respect of the FRC’s reviews of company reports and accounts. As Deputy Chair of the FRRP, Andrew will also be a member of the Corporate Reporting Review Committee, which is a committee of the Conduct Committee.
