The FRC’s LGBTQIA+ network invites you to a webinar on the 10th February, 4pm-5pm, as part of our celebration of LGBTQ+ History month in February. LGBTQ+ History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and related civil rights movements. We will be joined by two guests from Opening Doors London, the UK’s largest charity helping connect LGBTQ+ people over 50 with activities, events, support and information.

Agenda:
  1. Introduction from David Rule, FRC’s Executive Director of the Supervision Division
  2. Jen Sisson, Deputy Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs, will give an update on the FRC’s LGBTQIA+ Network and the FRC’s recent Corporate Governance Research focusing on barriers to progression for LGBT+ people in the workforce.
  3. Evelyn Pittman gives us the highlights of her recent project ‘From a whisper to a roar’ which collected oral histories from lesbian, bisexual and trans women from 1967 onwards.
  4. Annie Southerst talks about the challenges faced by older LGBTQ+ people during the pandemic, and the important work that Opening Doors London has been doing to support them.
There will be a Q&A session to round up what is sure to be an engaging event.
