The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has today published the latest list of signatories to the UK Stewardship Code.
The FRC has confirmed that 191 organisations meet the conditions to be signatories to the UK Stewardship Code 2026, including six new asset managers.
The Code now has 290 signatories in total, including those who remain a signatory following their last successful application for the UK Stewardship Code 2020. Signatories comprise 197 asset managers, 74 asset owners and 19 service providers.
The UK Stewardship Code 2026 maintains high standards of stewardship while streamlining reporting requirements and reducing unnecessary reporting burdens on signatories. Early evidence from submissions under the updated framework shows organisations are responding positively to the changes.
Approximately 70% of signatories reduced the length of their reports, cutting report length by an average of 20%. Around a quarter of signatories elected to submit separate documents for their Activities and Outcomes Report and Policy and Context Disclosure, while many others chose to submit a single report structured to clearly distinguish between the two elements.
Throughout the summer, the FRC will also be supporting signatories by providing feedback on their reporting, helping organisations understand the new reporting framework and identify opportunities to further improve the clarity and effectiveness of their disclosures.
Andrea Tweedie, Head of Stewardship at the FRC"The UK Stewardship Code continues to play an important role in supporting high-quality stewardship and providing transparency to investors and other stakeholders.
"The transition to the 2026 Code is helping signatories focus their reporting on the stewardship activities and outcomes that matter most. It is encouraging to see many signatories producing shorter, more focused reports while continuing to demonstrate the quality of their stewardship practices."
The FRC will provide additional insights on the quality of reporting received and how to report well to the 2026 Code through a publication later in the year, following on from last year’s publication of “Preparing for the UK Stewardship Code 2026: applying insights from current reporting", which helped signatories transition to the 2026 Code and reduce the length of their reports.
The updated list of signatories is available on the FRC website.
