Draft 2027 Taxonomy Suite published

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has today published a draft version of the 2027 Taxonomy Suite for public consultation.
To prepare for upcoming digital reporting requirement from Companies House, this release introduces the first-time digitisation of FRS 103 Insurance Contracts under the FRS-102 entry point of the taxonomies.
The consultation is open for eight weeks until Sunday 20 September 2026, and responses can be submitted through Yeti or by email to [email protected].
The FRC is aiming to release the final version of the Taxonomy Suite in November 2026, together with a feedback statement.
Key changes to the 2027 Taxonomy Suite
Respondents are strongly encouraged to read the changelog document included in the draft Taxonomy Suite download, which provides detailed information on all proposed amendments and supports the use of accompanying mapping files.
The principal proposed changes include:
- IFRS 18 Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements
- Amendments to IFRS 9 and IFRS 7 – Contracts Referencing Nature-dependent Electricity
- FRS 103 Insurance Contracts
- Amendments to FRS 102 The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
- Annual Review of FRS 101 Reduced Disclosure Framework
- Amendments to ISA (UK) 700 and ISA (Ireland) 700
- ISA (UK) 701, ISA (UK) 720, ISA (Ireland) 701, and ISA (Ireland) 720
- Extend XII Countries Taxonomy
- Remove references to Charities SORP 2019
The proposed changes are intended to ensure that the Taxonomy Suite remains aligned with current reporting and assurance requirements and continues to support high-quality digital reporting across UK and Irish jurisdictions.
