The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is seeking new members to join its UK GAAP Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and help shape the future of UK and Ireland Accounting Standards.

The TAG brings together up to 15 financial reporting experts with a broad mix of sector experience of operating under the UK and Ireland Financial Reporting framework. The group supports the development and maintenance of UK and Ireland accounting standards, including Statements of Recommended Practice (SORPs), and supports the FRC in considering key issues such as conflicting interpretations, emerging risks to financial reporting quality, and the impact of developments in IFRS Accounting Standards. In doing so, the group has regard to meeting users' information needs and the wider public interest.

The FRC welcomes candidates with experience in either the for-profit or not-for-profit sectors. To support diverse representation within the TAG, the FRC is particularly interested in candidates with experience in a preparer role and candidates from the Republic of Ireland.

Candidates with relevant experience are invited to apply by sending their CV to [email protected] along with an indication of why they are interested in this role. Applications should be received by 30 June 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.

This role is voluntary and unpaid. The expected time commitment is approximately 2-5 days per year, based on 4-6 hybrid meetings plus preparation time.

Please note that there shall not be more than one member from any accounting network, unless that supports representation from the Republic of Ireland.

Personal data provided in applications will be held solely for the purpose of the selection process and will be deleted after six months when unsuccessful, or retained for the duration of membership of TAG when successful. In addition to this, our Stakeholder Engagement Privacy Notice provides details of how we will treat your personal data.
