FRC to host digital reporting education events across UK

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is hosting a series of Digital Reporting outreach events and associated hackathons in March and May 2026. These sessions support improved understanding of Digital Reporting using XBRL and the UK taxonomies, alongside opportunities to engage directly with digital reporting datasets.
Education Outreach Events (half‑day)
Free in‑person learning sessions for preparers, auditors, regulators, analysts and data users:
- Birmingham – Wednesday 11 March, 14:00–16:30
- Glasgow – Wednesday 18 March, 14:00–16:30
- London – Wednesday 6 May, 14:00–16:30
Each session provides an accessible introduction to Digital Reporting using XBRL[1] [2] and the UK taxonomies, practical guidance for applying UK requirements, and insights from stakeholders across the reporting ecosystem.

Hackathon Events
Opportunities to explore Digital Reporting data in a hands‑on environment:
- Birmingham Government/Agency Hackathon – Thursday 12 March (For Government bodies and public agencies)
- London Public Hackathon – Thursday 26 and Friday 27 March (Open to a broad range of participants including preparers, analysts, innovators, technologists and data users)

In the UK, XBRL is used to support the digital submission of corporate reporting information to FCA, Companies House and HMRC. The FRC facilitates digital filing through the authoring of the UK taxonomies.
