FRC welcomes Bill Butler’s appointment as Chair of Public Sector Audit Appointments

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has today welcomed the appointment of Bill Butler as the new Chair of Public Sector Audit Appointments Limited (PSAA) who takes over from Steve Freer on 1 April 2024.
Commenting on Bill Butler’s appointment, the FRC’s Executive Director of Supervision Sarah Rapson said:
“Bill brings significant experience to local authority reporting and audit and joins the PSAA at a critical time for the sector. I look forward to working closely with Bill as we take forward cross-system measures to tackle the local audit backlog and return the system to a sustainable footing and thank Steve for his significant service.”
