News types: Generic Announcement
Published: 18 February 2013
On 20 March 2013 the ICAEW and the FRC will be holding their event Audit Quality Forum 2013: Spotlight on audit committees from 4.30 - 8pm.
The current changes to audit guidance announced by the FRC create an expectation that audit committees will achieve a step change in their reporting.
This event will help audit committees plan for these changes and enable investors to have a say in what changes they would find most helpful. The event features a speech from Jo Swinson (Minister for Employment Relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs). Other speakers include Melanie McLaren (FRC’s Director of Codes and Standards) and Steve Barber (Audit committee Chair Next plc).
For more information please see the ICAEW’s event page. To register for the event, email [email protected]
The FRC's Financial Reporting Lab is currently undertaking a project to test ‘Audit Committee Reports’. This Lab project is researching the content and style of existing and newly developing Audit Committee Reports. It is envisages that the event will assist the Lab in gathering research on the project to help it develop and publish observations on approaches to reporting that are considered to be most effective.
