Sandbox: Simplifying Annual Reporting
1 minute read
Introduction
Navigating reporting frameworks to create a streamlined annual report which meets regulatory requirements but remains user-friendly and concise can represent a significant challenge for preparers, particularly smaller companies with limited resources. In our first Hub Sandbox project we are looking for approximately five companies to participate in a sandbox exercise with us to determine where they can streamline their annual reporting.
Participation will be entirely voluntary and confidential, with one-to-one interaction with us to identify key challenges and discuss potential solutions. If successful, the sandbox may re-open for future cohorts. Participants will be granted a 1-year exemption from Corporate Reporting Review selection.
How can I participate?
If you meet the following criteria and are interested in learning more about how your company can participate in the sandbox, please email [email protected] no later than 5pm on 3 October 2025 for more details:
- Listed or quoted equity shares
- Not subject to financial services regulation or within another highly regulated sector (e.g. utilities)
- Available to participate in one-to-one sandbox meetings over the course of October 2025 to January 2026, in respect of your last published set of annual report and accounts.
- Able to commit to approximately 30 hours of time on the sandbox project, likely to comprise 3 x 90 minute meetings plus review exercises in between. The time commitment may vary depending on the company and their appetite.
- Able to involve company resource at an appropriately senior level from within your finance, reporting and/or governance functions
If demand for places exceeds capacity, the FRC will consider how to allocate available places. This may include giving priority to smaller and AIM-quoted applicants in this round of applications.
