Amendment to the FAOA's letter to the FRC from 8 December 2023

Dear Mr. Barrett,

We are writing on behalf of the Federal Audit Oversight Authority, as the competent authority for licensing of statutory auditors in Switzerland, to amend the letter sent to the FRC on 8 December 2023, in which the arrangements for the equivalent reciprocal approval of statutory auditors in our respective jurisdictions were communicated.

Since the arrangement referred to above was concluded, a new Regulation for the higher professional examination as Certified Public Accountant (Swiss CPA) has been implemented, in force as of 1 January 2026.

The FAOA's letter from 8 December 2023 is herewith amended as described below, effective as of the date of this letter:

Nr. 3 (Arrangements) c.:

Those requirements are set out in Article 4 of the Federal Act on the Licensing and Oversight of Auditors (Auditor Oversight Act, AOA, SR 221.302) and in the Ordinance on the Licensing and Oversight of Auditors (Auditor Oversight Ordinance, AOO, SR 221.302.3), in particular Articles 1-7 and 34 in combination with the Federal Act on Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPETA), SR 412.10 and the Examination Regulation for the higher professional examination as Certified Public Accountant of 15 June 2022, in force as of 1 January 20261.

We would like to use this opportunity to thank the FRC for their commitment to this process and excellent cooperation throughout.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. Reto Sanwald Chief Executive Officer
