Minutes

1. Welcome and apologies

The Chair welcomed all attendees to the July public meeting of the UK Sustainability Disclosure Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).

There were apologies from David Harris, Madeleine Evans, Nick Rowbottom and Peter Hogarth.

Hilary Eastman declared an interest in agenda item 3 as a member of the Climate Source Advisory Committee.

2. July 2026 general reporting update

The TAC noted Agenda Paper 2, including the recent publication of A Buyer's Guide to Assurance on Sustainability Information by ICAEW and WBCSD.

3. Proposed amendments to SASB Standards – Phase 1 Part 2: Final comment letter

The TAC discussed Agenda Paper 3, which presented the final draft response to SASB/ED/2026/1. The discussion and resulting amendments covered:

  • General themes: The overall framing, purpose and future development of the SASB Standards, with clarificatory, presentational and other amendments agreed to strengthen and refine the comment letter's key messages.
  • Industry specific matters: The proposed responses relating to the Agricultural Products; Meat, Poultry & Dairy; and Electric Utilities & Power Generators SASB Standards, with technical, clarificatory and editorial amendments agreed to improve their accuracy, consistency and clarity.

The TAC approved the final draft response to SASB/ED/2026/1, subject to the Secretariat and the Chair incorporating the agreed amendments. The response will then be finalised, submitted to the ISSB and published on the FRC website.

4. Proposed amendments to SASB Standards – Phase 1 Part 2: Draft due process summary

The TAC discussed Agenda Paper 4 and requested minor amendments.

The TAC tentatively approved the draft due process summary. Following submission of the comment letter to the ISSB, the final due process summary will be presented for approval at the September 2026 TAC public meeting.

5. AOB

There was no other business.

The Chair thanked attendees and confirmed that the next TAC meeting is scheduled for 15 September 2026. The meeting concluded at 10:45am.

A private meeting with an ISSB Member was held between 11:00am and 11:45am. The purpose of the meeting was for the ISSB Member to update the TAC on the ISSB's work and to answer any questions from TAC members.
