The TAC noted Agenda Paper 2, which provided updates since the May 2026 meeting.

3. Proposed amendments to SASB Standards – Phase 1 Part 2

The TAC discussed Agenda item 3, with the TAC's discussions focusing on the draft response to SASB/ED/2026/1. The discussions were structured into:

  • Industry specific discussions
  • General / non-industry specific discussions.

Industry specific discussions

Electric Utilities & Power Generators
  • The TAC reviewed and discussed this section and recommended some improvements, including: the removal of unnecessary elements; improved clarity on certain recommendations relating to capacity metrics, energy affordability, and the aggregation/disaggregation of indigenous peoples' disclosures; linking recommendations on proportionality provisions to SASB-wide proportionality mechanisms; and other general drafting improvements.
Agricultural Products
  • The TAC reviewed and discussed this section and recommended improvements in areas including: clarity on the recommendation for finalising the Food & Beverage sector standards; a stronger recommendation regarding 'sustainably managed land'; consideration of linkages to IFRS S1/S2 in the use of the term 'impacts'; and other general presentation and drafting enhancements.
Meat, Poultry & Dairy
  • The TAC reviewed and discussed this section and recommended some improvements, including the removal of certain elements, clearer recommendations on aquaculture, and linking the response on proportionality mechanisms to SASB-wide proportionality mechanisms in the general points.

General / non-industry specific discussions

The TAC shared the following comments:

  • The TAC suggested a number of drafting changes, including to a paragraph on restructuring the SASB Standards.
  • The TAC suggested a number of general points included in the responses to the industry specific questions were instead included in the responses to the general / non-industry specific questions.

The draft response to SASB/ED/2026/1 will be updated following the discussions in this meeting. The final response to SASB/ED/2026/1 will then be presented for approval at the TAC's July 2026 meeting, along with a draft Due Process Summary.
