Panel Discussion: Assessing the benefits and barriers to implementing IFRS 17
24 Apr 2018 9:30am to 12:00pm
Date: Tuesday 24 April 2018
Time: 9.30am registration for a prompt 10am start to 12pm
The Financial Reporting Council invites you to a panel discussion to explore the possible benefits and barriers to implementing IFRS 17. The new insurance contract accounting standard was issued in May 2017 and will come into effect in 2021. This event is your opportunity to hear from experts about their key issues and challenges and to share your views. The panel members will give different perspectives on IFRS 17, including an insurer’s and accountant’s view.
The FRC contributes to the European endorsement process of IFRS 17. During the event we want to find out what you think about IFRS 17. The outcome of our discussions will feed into the assessment whether the new accounting standard should be endorsed in Europe or not.
This event is relevant for insurers that use IFRS for their financial reporting. We especially encourage insurers that have not yet had the chance to contribute to the assessment of IFRS 17 to participate. Other stakeholders with an interest in IFRS 17 are also invited.
