FRC publishes responses to Interim Report of Market Participants Group
|
The Financial Reporting Council today publishes on its website responses to the interim report of the Market Participants Group that is advising the FRC on its Choice in the UK Audit Market project.
The Market Participants Group will consider the responses at its meetings in July and September. It hopes to publish its final recommendations in the autumn.
FRC Chief Executive, and Convenor of the MPG, Paul Boyle said:
“We are grateful that so many organisations and individuals have made the effort to respond to the interim report of the Market Participants Group. The Group will now wish to consider carefully respondents’ views before it finalises its recommendations”.
The responses are listed below:
-
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is the UK’s independent regulator responsible for promoting confidence in corporate reporting and governance.
-
The FRC’s functions are exercised principally by its operating bodies (the Accounting Standards Board, the Auditing Practices Board, the Board for Actuarial Standards, the Financial Reporting Review Panel, the Professional Oversight Board and the Accountancy Investigation and Discipline Board) and by the Council. The Committee on Corporate Governance, whose members are drawn from the Council, assists it in its work on corporate governance.
