REMINDER: FRC Webinar on the ISSB and international sustainability standards

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) invites stakeholders to attend its upcoming webinar on the work of the newly formed International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and its first two proposed standards.

When: Wednesday 11 May 2022, 10.00-11.00am

The webinar will be hosted by Josephine Jackson, Director of International Auditing and Assurance Standards at the FRC along with the following speakers:

  • ISSB – Sue Lloyd, Vice-Chair of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)
  • BEIS – Debbie Crawshawe, Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)  
  • FRC – Sarah-Jayne Dominic, Head of Policy, Programmes & Strategy, Regulatory Standards (FRC)

Survey of UK stakeholders views

To gather UK stakeholders’ views on the ISSB’s Exposure Drafts, the FRC has developed a short stakeholder survey available here . The deadline to provide comments is 29 May 2022. The data collected by the FRC will inform its response to the ISSB Exposure Drafts.

The FRC has also produced an updated factsheet to inform UK stakeholders of developments in sustainability standard setting by the IFRS Foundation and International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB). This is a fast moving agenda that has the potential to impact corporate reporting significantly in the future. Background

On 31 March 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) released two Exposure Drafts, IFRS S1 General Requirements for Disclosure of Sustainability-related Financial Information and IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures, which are open for comment until 29 July 2022.
