The International Accounting Standards Board has recently added a project on leasing to its formal agenda. To contribute to this work, the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) and the Finance and Leasing Association (FLA) are jointly hosting a public meeting on the future of accounting for equipment leasing which will give participants an opportunity to hear a variety of views, to ask questions and contribute to a general discussion.

The meeting will hear a presentation from Warren McGregor (Board member of IASB), Peter Westlake (Member of ASB) will provide a perspective from the standpoint of the user of financial statements, and representatives of the equipment leasing industry will make prominent contributions.

The event will take place at the Kingsway Hall Hotel, 66 Great Queen Street, London WC2 on 26 February 2007 and run from 9 am to 12: 30 am. It will be followed by a buffet lunch for those who are able to stay.
